About Gold Price Desk
Gold Price Desk publishes the live spot price of gold, silver and platinum, worked out per gram, ounce, kilo and tola, per karat, in the currencies of the markets it covers, with a gold calculator and a zakat calculator built on the same numbers. It is written in Arabic for Saudi Arabia and in English for Qatar and the global ounce, with more markets added one at a time.

Who publishes it
The site is published by Elites Algorithm Limited, a technology company registered in Dublin, Ireland (Companies Registration Office number 773468, incorporated 9 October 2024). It was founded and is run by Taimoor Bamazai. The company builds and operates its own information sites; it does not buy, sell, store or broker gold, and it takes no commission from anyone who does.
How every number is made
A scheduled job reads the global spot price in US dollars every two minutes and stores it. Every other figure on the site is arithmetic on that one reading: the gram is the ounce divided by 31.1034768, a karat is the gram multiplied by its purity, and another currency is one conversion, using a fixed peg where one exists and a separately timed exchange rate where it does not. When you open a page the current stored number is written into it as it is sent, and the page shows the exact age of that number beside it. What the site will not print
A dash rather than a guess. No price for a unit, currency or purity that has not been verified; no buy-and-sell table, shop price or making charge unless it has been researched and sourced for that specific market and carries its date; no chart longer than our own record, because the alternative is republishing a benchmark we are not licensed to republish; and no ruling on a religious question, only arithmetic and a stated convention.
Corrections
Market facts on this site are dated in the text, so a fact that ages reads as out of date rather than as wrong. If you find an error, tell us. A confirmed error is corrected on the page itself, the page's last-modified date is updated, and where the mistake could have misled a reader we say so in the text rather than quietly replacing the sentence.
How the site is funded
It is not, yet. The site currently carries no advertising and sells nothing. It may carry advertising in future; if it does, the privacy page will say so before any advertising appears, and the numbers on the site will not be influenced by it. Listings in the Saudi shop directory are free and are never paid for.
